In less than a month the town of Lampeter will once again see a flurry of motoring activity with members of Lampeter and district motor club organising a charity car show and run on the 8th of October. Based at the University of Wales Trinity St. Davids, a gathering of road and competition vehicles are expected to show in the name of fundraising for a good cause, with the money raised going to Bronglais chemotherapy unit and Llanelli Breast cancer unit. As well as this an auction and a raffle will be held with prizes kindly donated by local businesses and residents.

One of the day’s highlights will be the arrival of a genuine Formula 1 car attending the day, with kind thanks to James Belton of JB and son civil engineering for venturing up to Lampeter, which surely must be a first for the town? As well as this there will be refreshments available at the start venue and food to follow at the Lloyd Thomas dining room.

The club has been in existence since 1958 and as well as running the Bro caron road rally, which this year celebrated its fortieth anniversary very successfully, also enjoys a great relationship with the local community and is very appreciative of the support when running events, as a thank you for the kindness of the people of the local area has donated £500 for the two causes. As well as this the club has donated a further £500 for the first prize for the raffle. Entry fee for the run is £15 and will see all entrants gather at the start venue by 11:00am. Everyone is welcome to attend and the run is open to all types of car.
