"Lwni" returns to winning ways

The Pacemaker rally would see Dan "Lwni" Jones get his WAMC championship campaign back on track with a convincing victory at the helm of his Ford Escort Mk2. With Graham Dance on the maps, Jones went on to secure his fourth win of 2011 and with that, his fourth maximum points haul of the year closing the gap to his championship competitors.

Jones now lies fifth in the championship standings with four rounds remaining. The best eight scores from the eleven rounds will be counted towards the finals standings which leaves the championship wide open, although, consistency is proving to be the key with current championship leader Steve Knibbs finishing every championship event so far! Debbie Furniss was amongst the LDMC members competing on the event. Furniss would this time be navigating for Gary Roberts in his VW Golf and the pair finished the event 14th O/a and 5th in the Experts class. Edryd Evans and son Dafydd brought their Honda Civic home in 20th O/a whilst Abi Carrington finished 49th O/a on her return to rallying after her absence due to pregnancy. Chris Palmer in his Escort and Marc Hughes, navigating for Rich Williams were amongst the retirements.
